Insperation for CD design

I got insperation for my CD cover from the maze design from 'Inception'.

Inception is a film about being able to create a alternative world in our dreams. This film some what links to the idea I wish to portray in the CD album itself, I want the intended audience to feel as though they can get lost in the album, as though they are living in there own world.

I have desided to stick with the maze
theme throw out the album and I have entended
to have the Disk cover to be a maze
as well (like the inception DVD cover).

Type of Album Case I will have.

I plan to have a plastic CD case for my album. This is the normal type of CD case that is used for many different genres and albums.
The reason I have chosen this case is because I believe that the color of the CD covers bright design is strong enough to attract the buyer. Also by using this type of CD case it will make displaying the band name and album name easier by putting the name of the band and the album down the side like Rihanna has done in her 'LOUD' album. I have decided to do this because the CD cover did not look right with having the Band name on the cover, it looked to disorientating and to much for the eyes to handle. This is why i believe this idea to work best. The band will still be show on the cover of the album and will not be as disorientating to the audience.

Making of the maze.

This album cover influenced how I wanted my album cover to be by the fact it is a rubiks cube. I thought this would be a great creation to have the album cover seem more playful. I started thinking of games you do by yourself and I came across a maze. I immediately thought that this was a perfect idea for the album, I wanted to make an intermediate maze . I wanted the audience to have fun solving the maze whilst listening to the music. I began to think that maybe the maze would be to boring just as white, so I though I would add colour to it, at first I thought just blue or red but then I decided that it would be more eye catching if it was multi-coloured, this would also make the maze harder to solve and equally more entertaining.
