What is Narcissism?
Narcissism
Narcissism is the personality trait of egotism, vaniry, conceit, or simply selfishness.
Narcissism comes from Narcissius who in greek myth was a pathologically self-absorbed young man who fell in love with his own reflection in a pool. It is believed that some narcissism is an essential part of all of us from birth.
Andrew P. Morrison claims that, in adults, a reasonable amount of healthy narcissism allows the individual's perception of his needs to be balanced in relation to others.

How this Video influenced our video.
This Music Video influenced our video because we wanted to have a simliar set as theirs for ours. We used the idea of performaning in a warehouse and modeified it to what we were able to access. Due to not being able to find a warehouse we used a drama room located at our school instead, we still have a simialr effects used in this video to help with the production of our music video.

Which demographic would most identify with the life style and generic style of the british band 'The Foals'
The band Foals is formed by 5 oxford drop outs. This straight away draws us to the obvious conclusion that their audience will be people (students) at the age of 16-23. Foals seems to target middle class (C1/ B) white males between the age of 16-23, this is shown by the band members being white males and by doing interviews with middle class newspapers such as ‘The Independent’.
Foals seem to have a different style of music to any other I have heard. It is more ‘random’ then planned. This will draw younger audiences in due to the fact that they like to do thing on the whim and experiment with stuff. Their style is very laid back and relaxed which fits perfectly with the audience they are targeting by the use of hoodies and jeans, a causal but effective look.
We get this impression of the target audience being 16-23 due to many of the bands pictures. Many of the pictures of the band contain them doing something fun and rebellious. For example you would normally associate balloons with fun and party’s, this connotes that they life to live a free and fun life that is full of parties which most student (16-23) would want to do as well.

Info on Rarest Spun.
Rarest Spun, From Greater Manchester formed in April 2010. The band consits of Kev, Ste, Farrell, Cookie and Luc. They started messing about with some songs and thought it would be a good idea to form a band. 5 months later they released 3 tracks; No Rush to go home, I wasnt ready and What now Charlie Brown? Rarest Spun are a psychedelic indie-rock band who were inspired by the bands Smiths, Pixies and Radiohead.
The name for the band was inspired by the book 'A Clockwork Orange'
"It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!"
A Clockwork Orange was written in 1962 by Anthony Burgess. It was later filmed in 1971.Thursday, 16 September 2010

At the beginning I wasn't to sure if we should go with a performance video or not. Danny was against us doing a performance video. But to me it seemed the best way with this type of song and would fit the genre perfectly. Also the bands that have been influential on Rarest Spun use performance based videos. (Radio-head, The Smiths, The Pixies) After many hours of studying the lyrics and listening to to song closely i came up with the idea of having a performance video with a twist. The video will start off with the band playing. The camera pulls away from the band to a T.V screen and on this T.V screen the band are playing. As soon as the singer starts to sing the image changes to a couple. In each new verse the couple change locations and seem to be drifting apart. And in the last shot the girl is walking away from the boy.
